How We Help
Everything your employer's HR department forgot to tell you, in English or Hindi, while we handle the German side.
Your insurance journey in Germany
Start with what matters now, then add the right protection as your life in Germany becomes more settled.
New in Germany
A quick checklist for the next step in your life in Germany.
Step 1 · Foundation
Make sure your health insurance still fits your income, age, and family situation.
Step 2 · Protection
A small monthly cost that can protect you from expensive everyday damage claims.
Step 3 · Family
Protects you in disputes with landlords, employers, or contracts.
Step 4 · Home
Household insurance, disability cover, and pension planning can wait until you're settled. We'll guide you when the time is right.
Settling in
Once the basics are in place, build out the cover that protects your income, your home and your day-to-day life in Germany.
Step 1 · Month 1–3
Covers your belongings against fire, water damage, burglary and storm. Worth setting up once your apartment is furnished, especially if you have electronics or a bike.
Step 2 · Protect your income
Replaces a large share of your salary if illness or injury stops you from working. Cheaper the younger and healthier you are, so worth locking in early.
Step 3 · Review
If your income or status has shifted (new role, freelance, family), the public vs private decision should be revisited. The wrong call here is expensive to undo.
Step 4 · Family
Pays an agreed lump sum to your family if you die during the term, so a mortgage or relatives back home are not left depending on your income.
Long-term
Once you're settled in for the long run, the bigger questions come into focus: retirement, family, property and how it all fits together.
Step 1 · Foundation
The German state pension alone rarely matches the lifestyle you're building. We compare Riester, Rürup and private options against your tax situation and time horizon.
Step 2 · Grow
Once the essentials are covered, we help you put surplus income to work through funds and tax-efficient wrappers that match your goals and how long you plan to stay.
Step 3 · Property
Required by most German lenders when you buy. Covers the building itself against fire, water and storm damage. Pairs with your existing Hausrat for full protection.
Step 4 · Invest
Buying property in Germany as an expat raises questions on financing and tax, and on what happens if you later move back to India. We help you weigh the numbers before you commit.

Yes. Health insurance is mandatory by law. Liability insurance is strongly recommended, even a small accident can cost you thousands. Legal insurance protects you in disputes with landlords or employers. We help you understand exactly what you need based on your situation.
We review your existing contracts, explain what you have in plain English, and tell you whether the cover still fits your situation. You are under no obligation to change anything.
Yes! Our team speaks English and Hindi. We communicate with you in the language you’re most comfortable with, and handle all German communication with insurance companies on your behalf.
Yes. Health insurance (Krankenversicherung) is mandatory for every person living in Germany, including Indian nationals. You cannot obtain a residence permit without proof of insurance. Most employed Indians earning under €77,400/year are automatically enrolled in public health insurance (GKV) through their employer. Above this threshold, or if self-employed, you may choose private health insurance (PKV).
GKV is Germany’s public health insurance, mandatory for employees earning under ~€77,400/year. It covers your spouse and children for free, and your contribution is split with your employer. PKV is private health insurance, which offers faster specialist access and broader coverage, but each family member requires a separate policy. For most Indian IT employees and students, GKV is the correct starting point, since switching back from PKV to GKV is very difficult once you opt out.
No. Indian health insurance policies are not accepted by German authorities as valid coverage for residence permit applications. You need German-recognized insurance, which means either GKV, PKV, or an approved international health insurance provider. For short Schengen visits (under 90 days), Indian travel insurance covering at least €30,000 may be accepted, but it is not valid for residence.
Yes, it is strongly recommended and many landlords require it. In Germany, you are personally liable for all damage you accidentally cause to others, so losing a landlord’s keys can cost €2,000+, and a cycling accident that injures someone can result in claims exceeding €100,000. Haftpflichtversicherung costs as little as €5/month and typically covers up to €50 million in damages, which makes it one of the first things to arrange on arrival.
It is extremely difficult once you have opted out of GKV. The only paths back are: (1) your income drops permanently below €77,400/year, (2) you become unemployed, or (3) you reach age 55+ with a specific employment change. This is why the PKV decision requires careful long-term planning before opting out.
No German required. Bring your questions, we'll explain your options clearly and tell you what to do next.
No pressure. No obligation.
